Quezon Memorial Circle
We took a quick trip to the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) that coincides with the 134th birth Anniversary of President Manuel L. Quezon. The QMC marks the spot were the remains of the former President were reinterred.

August 19, Quezon’s birthday, is a special non-working holiday in Quezon City. This means that work and school classes are suspended in the city giving time for residents to unwind. It is on this day that the QMC is a site of wreath-laying activities in honor of the late President.
There is a great chance of a downpour. The whole city is still reeling off from the recent onslaught of floods, but we still decided to re-visit QMC. During those lazy afternoons, a walk in this park can provide that much sought after relaxation.
With several development projects undertaken by the local government intended to improve QMC, the place is slowly being transformed into a family oriented park from a mere jogging path in the morning or a dimly lighted “red” district at night.
QMC is now a place where you can experience a zip line, a playground known as the “Circle of Joy” and an amusement park called “Circle of Fun”. Bike rentals are still available for everyone to enjoy. There are several restaurants and stalls offering native delicacies. Some even offer bottomless drinks and unlimited rice meals. If you would like organic foods, QMC is the place to be. It is also here where you can buy seedlings of diverse plant species for your garden.
You can also make your stress disappear by having a massage at “Vibes Massage”. Here trained blind masseurs and masseuse can make your aches and pains disappear at a very affordable price.
There used to be a Chess Plaza inside QMC where fledgling and advanced players hone their chess playing skills. I really hope that the local government again provide space for chess players inside the Quezon Memorial Circle.
