One of the good things brought about by the changes in Villamor, Pasay City is the construction of Resortās World Manila. The construction of mega resort facilities such as the Newport Mall and posh condominiums changed not only the landscape but also the lifestyle of this former Philippine Air Force Base.

Gone are those days.

In fact, the construction of the structures happened so fast those residents who came back after a long hiatus abroad can no longer recognize Villamor. The elementary, high school and college were transferred to an area outskirt of the golf course. The Air Force has been relegated to a much smaller portion and the only remnant of the old Villamor I used to know is the St. Therese Church.
It is true that nothing is permanent in this world except change itself. While I miss the old Villamor, I am beginning to like the transformations that have taken place. High-class entertainment and restaurants are all within reach. Perhaps, the only drawback of these rapid constructions is the annoying traffic build-up. I am one of those who cannot comprehend that huge ābirdās nestā structure near Terminal 3.
Island Spa is one of those welcome changes in Villamor located at the 5th level of Newport Mall in Resortās World Manila.
My sister with her husband arrived from the US for a one-week stay in the Philippines before hopping to other Asian destinations. After visiting our departed loved ones at the Heritage Park and the "Libingan Ng Mga Bayani", we proceeded to Resortās World for amuch-neededd relaxation. The traffic from Villamor to Taguig was, as expected, heavy and inconvenient.
After this nostalgic visit and surviving the monstrous traffic, a very relaxing massage is definitely a welcome treat. Architects and developers of Resortās World Manila however should seriously take into consideration the construction of large roads to accommodate the massive number of vehicles.
We headed to the 5th floor of the mall and passed by Mcdonaldās and Brunoās Barbershop. We went up the stairs and Island Spa welcomed us with feeling of calm and relaxation. The lighting and the interior together with the welcoming smile of the girl at the reception area evoked an ambience of a true spa. Its warm lighting and cozy interiors created that very tranquil environment perfect for this kind of activity.
Island Spa provides different types of massage and room choices (Private, Superior and Suite). On the list of its services are (1) foot reflexology; (2) foot and back massage (3) body massage [Shiatsu, Swedish or Combination]; (4) aromatherapy; and (5) hot stone massage. Price range is P 600.00 to P 2,350.00.
I tried their 60-minute body massage in a Superior room. Their Superior room has its own toilet and bath with LCD TV adding privacy and a more relaxed atmosphere. I admired the roomās well-designed interiors, lights and decors.
I was very much pleased with Island Spaās massage. It is not different compared to other spas I tried except for the hot compress after the reflexology. Every masseuse however should be āservice orientedā and āclient satisfactionā must be achieved at all times.
Like in other spas, I signed a piece of paper handed by the masseuse for her ātipā. I stayed for a few minutes and enjoyed their āginger teaā which is available upon request.
