There are several hotels that offer a spectacular view of Makati City and one of them is the St. Giles Hotel at the corner of Kalayaan Avenue. Location is one of the best assets of this hotel. It is near various establishments, restaurants, entertainment and other hotels. The Makati City Garden Hotel is literally on its other side.

Its swimming pool and gym is located on the 35^th floor  that reminded us of the breathtaking Skywalk at the Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu.  I really admired the view of Makati City atop St. Giles. The skyline of this financial district is very beautiful especially at night where the city seems to glow in various colors.

Security is not an issue at St. Giles. With its electronic key card, guests can only gain access to a hotel floor where their room is located. Guests must “tap” their card on the designated floor of the elevator to gain access to their room. With this procedure, “loitering” on other floors is avoided.

Our room is located on the 23^rd floor and I can see the Pacific Star Building in Makati Avenue.   According to the front desk, higher floors are no smoking areas and smokers are often billeted at the lower floors of the hotel.  Our room is complete with the usual - LCD TV, refrigerator, hot and cold shower, a bathtub, and other hotel amenities. There is wi-fi service in the room reliable enough for watching videos. With all of these, I can say that St. Giles Hotel is reasonably priced and a good choice for travelers.

We had a good night sleep at this hotel. Thanks to its comfortable bed and clean beddings. Being on the 23^rd floor of a high rise building means noise is reduced to the minimum and most external disturbance is eliminated. There is nothing that can disturb you from enjoying a well-deserved rest.

We stayed in this hotel for two (2) nights and I could say that most employees are courteous and respectful. Its front desk staff and other employees of St. Giles provide very good service. With several hotels in the area, it is necessary that the hotel staff has to be constantly reminded to render exceptional service to all guests and visitors whether foreign or local.  A courteous and accommodating staff is an asset of every hotel

I really think however that the buffet in its restaurant can be improved both as to the quality and kind of food being served.
