I have been to Sonya’s Garden in Tagaytay several times. And each time I visit this garden, there is always that relaxing feeling that seems to invigorate not only the body but my soul as well. The place is bursting with flowers and everything is natural. As I step into Sonya’s Garden, my usual feeling is seemingly being transformed as part of nature itself. The different colors of plants and flowers coupled with the sounds of insects and birds all blend in to make every visitor appreciate what nature can give.

At Sonya's Garden, visitors create their own Salad made of freshly harvested and organically grown ingredients. |
Who would not want to be part of nature’s blessing? I think every visitor to Sonya’s Garden desires a piece of nature. Every traveler to this place wants to consume something natural and organically grown. But for those who just happen to find themselves in this garden, either being lost or out of curiosity, the place always beckons everyone to come back.
Now that Summer is just around the corner, I am having a difficult time reserving an overnight stay at Sonya’s. The place is, more often than not, fully booked during weekends and holidays. I think everyone has the same idea of spending his or her free time at Sonya’s. The lack of overnight accommodation, however, has not prevented us from re-visiting this garden. Anyway, Tagaytay is just around two (2) to three (3) hours drive from Metro Manila depending on the traffic.
We arrived at Sonya’s at 3:00 in the afternoon. Actually were already in Tagaytay by 1:00 pm. We first made a quick stop at Starbucks as the sun was still shining brightly. In Tagaytay, I enjoy having a sip of my favorite Mocha Frappuccino while enjoying the very scenic view of the Taal Volcano. After a pleasant conversation, we headed to Sonya’s Garden.
There is an on-going wedding when we arrived at Sonya’s. With its beautiful and well-manicured gardens, this place has become a favorite venue for weddings. The different colored flowers, butterflies, the gush of water on man-made lagoons and waterfalls all combine to create the ambiance for memorable events.
We took photos. Actually we took a lot of photos! Its nook and cranny are all bursting with freshness. How I wish I could replicate this garden at home. Being surrounded with lush greeneries is totally relaxing. After walking around the garden, we took a quick visit to its Country Store and Panaderia.
We then had lunch. It is an “Eat All You Can” at Php 683.00 per person consisting of the following: (1) Garden Salad Greens freshly harvested and organically grown; (2) Newly Baked whole wheat sesame bread with different dips and toppings: basil pesto, white cheese, anchovies, bruschetta tomato toppings, mushroom pate, black olive tapenade and pepperoni in olive oil; (3) Pasta with two kinds of sauces and toppings; (4) Dessert of glazed potato, banana rolls, and homemade chocolate cake and (4) Bottomless Dalandan Juice and Taragon Tea.
Next time, if we had again the chance to visit Sonya's Garden, we would indulge ourselves in its luxurious spa and hopefully enjoy an overnight stay.
